I plan on going back to college full time, and I just don’t know if I could also be a shift lead at the same time. I’ve had the SM and high input shift leads ask if it is something I would think about doing. I feel like I am one of the better qualified people that have yet to have the opportunity to become one.

Hello I go to ASU full time online and I’m a shift that works 40-45 hours a week! It’s definitely not easy, and I have to make a lot of sacrifices via work/my education. My SM, ASM, and fellow shifts are all very understanding though, I am the youngest and the only one in college and they all support me a ton and that helps. I think as long as you’re driven and have the support, and think you can handle it, go for it!

Thanks for the input. I’d be in the same situation. I do also have support and a great Starbucks squad. An interesting thought

I’ve been doing it for about three semesters now and it gets easier every semester:) Good luck!

Yeah it's totally up to your team and SM. My requirement for my shifts is four days of availability, at least one of which is a weekend day.
That gives students, single parents, and people with other jobs/responsibilities the opportunity to apply.

It definitely depends on your SM cause some don’t mind part time shifts but others won’t allow it.
