Just curious can employees get their free drink and give it to a family member..mom, siblings, dad...
whowatchesthew 182 points 1y ago
No, not uh… knowingly.
ItzBoogieMan 24 points 1y ago
Exactly, plausible deniability. On the record, you can’t, off the record, you can leave the store, come back like 10 minutes later but you won’t be able to ask for another.
crkybnsjr 127 points 1y ago
no! *wink* totally not okay!!!! *wink wink* never!!!!!!!!! *agressive winking*
crkybnsjr 119 points 1y ago
but ngl i be bringin home 2 drinks from the "unlimited" on shift sooo
CrypticPearls 17 points 1y ago
My shifts don’t let me get more than one drink after I clock out.. we’re allowed to get multiple?
crkybnsjr 52 points 1y ago
ok. so. i close 98% of the time which is a factor but TECHNICALLY, (even tho it's "unlimited"), on ur shift ur supposed to get 1 drink 30 min before u clock in, 1 for each break/meal, and 1 drink 30 min after u clock out. life hack is to mark the drink out but make it later (save the sticker my friend). but generally my shifts are vv nice and don't really care soo i dont do this, but u could :)
Zaccimi 23 points 1y ago
You can get as many as you want. The POS will only mark out one for free per transaction and your 30% discount is applied on the rest, so if you wanted multiple for free you’d have to ring them out as separate transactions.
CrypticPearls 3 points 1y ago
Yeah I know, I’m allowed to make multiple transactions when marking out food, but not for drinks.
AccomplishedCut4784 5 points 1y ago
Lol same
Johanito69 72 points 1y ago
Technically no but if I’m going to get called slurs regularly the least they can do is give me free shit
AcanthisittaLazy2681 55 points 1y ago
technically this isn’t allowed but if you’re ringing up on someone else’s till and using your numbers, who’s gonna try and prove you’re not gonna have the drink yourself 👁
PauseAccording20 36 points 1y ago
Technically no, but if it’s your drink at the end of your shift no one can tell you what to do with qsaid drink when you leave
Js_On_My_Yeet 24 points 1y ago
Technically, no. But do I care? Also no. If it's my markout then I should do with it as I please.
MayhemBiker94 15 points 1y ago
*cough cough* on long shifts I like to ring up a drink at the beginning of my shift, one on my break, and one at the end of my shift. There aren't any rules that I have to make those drinks at the time of ringing them out. 🤷‍♀️ the way I see if is if I ring out, say a mocha, then don't make it until I have time (at the end of my shift) then *technically* no one can say anything... cuz it's still my drink that I'm allowed to have.
crkybnsjr 4 points 1y ago
bestie omg i literally just wrote this tooo 😭✨😏
boopsbittie -2 points 1y ago
If you read the partner handbook it said specifically to not do exactly what you said
catsrelax223 2 points 1y ago
The billion dollar overlords will be OK, chill
boopsbittie -3 points 1y ago
I am chill :) just mentioning that they said there aren’t any rules when there are in fact rules. Wouldn’t want anyone to get fired thinking they can do it since I’ve seen it happen
MayhemBiker94 2 points 1y ago
Yeah and the partner handbook has partners smiling while working so looks like it has a ton of inaccurate things in it 🤷‍♀️
boopsbittie -2 points 1y ago
I smile on my shifts
MayhemBiker94 0 points 1y ago
Well I'm glad you like your job (not sarcasm btw - genuinely happy for you). It takes a good person to be able to smile with how the majority of baristas are treated by (most) management and by (most) customers.
lpablito 7 points 1y ago
If you get caught.
mollythewiz 5 points 1y ago
when i close i take home like 3-4 drinks for the people i live with. usually i only leave during the day with 1-2 drinks so i don’t look suspicious. lol but my management is chill so they don’t really care.
philosopher_cat_lady 3 points 1y ago
No
peachiez_ 3 points 1y ago
technically no but no one’s gonna shit on you if you get a drink and bring it home to whoever without letting them know it’s for someone else
Brief_Coat6526 3 points 1y ago
Nope
carolineislaughing 2 points 1y ago
wait y’all mark out your drinks???
Gjwo 2 points 1y ago
Starbucks has the worst perks of any large corporation their drink and food rules for partners are bs
jennyparks07 2 points 1y ago
There is a report that store managers can run to see who is marking out drinks and who isn’t. So they can see if partners have drinks and can write them up for “stealing” or see what partners have the largest spent. It’s only by dollar amount
hellopie7 2 points 1y ago
My advice is take the free drink in question outside the store, then with no baristas/shifts looking, just give it to your family or friends there.
rosebudftw 1 points 1y ago
I give mine to my mom and my SM knows it
femalehomosapien18 1 points 1y ago
This is what I do. I get a drink during all my breaks but without ice and then bring them home. Problem solved
Darius_Kel 1 points 1y ago
For legal reasons, I have to say no.
iLovePayne 1 points 1y ago
“No”
BOORUNS 1 points 1y ago
If you have a pretty nonchalant boss, they don’t mind it.
aldrif-odinsdottir 1 points 1y ago
Not officially, but you can do whatever your shift lets you.

I've gotten in to the habit of getting drinks for the homeless guys around my store every now and then when I have a real bad day (my store manager would notice if I did it too often, and she would sack me).
otter_ada 1 points 1y ago
Unlimited drinks during ur shift so right before I clock out I put in all the drinks I want idc lmao
It_is_Katy 1 points 1y ago
I bring my mom home a frap most nights. I rarely bother to mark it out, shifts have never said anything.
