Assuming USA: you’re not allowed to wear anything on your wrists or any rings except a single plain band, per the FDA. The FDA doesn’t require you to wear a glove over a ring, but you can look up the laws for your city or state to check if there’s anything more restrictive
All those laws are for food *handling* positions. Starbucks undoubtedly involves food handling and your coworker’s claim that you don’t have to follow those rules is honestly ridiculous. Also, food *preparation* specifically includes brewing coffee and tea

I have my ServSafe, any jewelry is a physical and contamination hazard. A plain wedding band is only allowed. Technically we are supposed to wear gloves while handling food but I don’t know why my store doesn’t enforce it. This is federal regulations and if they don’t do it, they are violating the law
