i thought here would be the best and quickest way to get feedback. i currently work at walmart and it’s actually the worst job i’ve ever had. in the same “center” there’s a starbucks and i’m seriously debating on applying. i work self checkout basically full time so customer service isn’t that much of an issue but it’s the drink-making that stresses me out (idk if there’s a proper word for it i’ve only worked retail). i know it’s bad and can be bad but is it worth applying? anything is appreciated i just need to leave my current job

If you can handle entitled customers, stupid customers, and a bunch of complex but rather stupid tiktok drinks and terrible management, then starbucks is for you.

honestly the tiktok drinks probably really suck. but besides that everything happens at my current store which is why i’m really thinking about it

Apply to work at a corporate store. I’m pretty sure all Starbucks inside of other stores are licensed stores meaning you would still be working for Walmart with absolutely none of the benefits of an actual Starbucks. If it’s an actual Starbucks tho definitely apply.

it is an actual starbucks! there’s also a tarbucks up the street but that’s outta the question

that’s what i’m thinking!! my area isn’t exactly the busiest so i think getting the chance to experiment a few days a week would be nice

give it a shot if you hate your job but please remember… starbucks doesn’t give a fuck about any of us. they offer benefits but they honestly don’t make up for the shit we gotta go through from customers or corporate.

Just a warning Starbucks is a shitty place to work as well. If you work outside of peak times you're going to be understaffed unless it's a store in the middle of the city that's constantly busy, but then again that's a maybe. My store is in the middle of a shopping plaza next to a military base and we're constantly slammed yet my sm will only schedule 3 people outside of peak whilst we are handling a rush just about the same size as peak hours. I know since I used to work during peak. It will get stressful and you will meet hella rude people just because they haven't had their coffee yet. And the tips usually suck as well. Another thing about working outside of peak is that you will have the multitask as much as possible. I mainly been put on solo drive thru since I'm good at it but despite me telling them how much I hate being put on that position everyday no one cares. In solo drive thru you have to hand out drinks/take payment, take orders, and get your own food. Since my store is always busy I usually have to add taking cafe orders, helping out bar, and restocking to that. This company will not give two shits about you if you have a problem with management they'll say "I'll see what I can do" but nothing changes.
