As a barista who’s two previous manager have gifted me coffee master aprons am I allowed to wear them? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I joined shortly after the program was discontinued and this have never gotten the certification of coffee master but I know a lot about coffee itself and also the drink standards at starbucks. Both of my managers were coffee master certified. I recently got a new manager who is upset I wanted to wear my black apron on launch instead of a red one. I just wanna know if I am allowed to wear it.

at my store we are allowed to wear the black apron, but we were all asked to wear the red apron on launch day, so that may have been the issue. have they said anything to you about wearing it on any other day?

Yes she told me she called partner resources and they said no. I called partner resources and they said yes so idk

You’re technically not allowed to as per standard because you didn’t earn it, but it depends on the manager honestly.

My new manager said no but I’ve never been given a problem and she told me she called partner resources and they said no but when I called they said yes so 🤪

my manager lets us wear any launch or just older starbucks aprons, all october I wear an orange Via apron that I got from our old SM even though i wasnt an employee in like 2010 or whenever via launched c:

You can wear it no problem it’s just a little bit frustrating for those of us who did earn it because it was a lot of work but, if management doesn’t care then knock yourself out they are pretty sweet to wear

Right but some of us never got the chance to even apply to be a coffee master. I’d like to think I know a lot about coffee and I wish I could’ve earned it but my previous manager who is a coffee master thought I deserved it so it means a lot to me
