Question for baristas: Do you ever get a sick feeling after you've been on food for a while? I suspect it is some kind of fume coming from the Turbo Chef, but I could be wrong.

I tend to feel dizzy, clammy, nauseous, and easily aggravated if I am on warming for long durations of time. These are all common effects of being too hot. I don't believe it has anything to do with fumes

Yes! I start to feel like I’m going to pass out and can’t breathe but yeah o think it’s just the heat

No, you’re probably just tired of that position like most of us after a while

You mean like those of us who are stuck on bar 24/7?

i wear hijab so generally warming is my least fav position bc i get hot very quickly over there and typically i gotta take a bunch of little walks to the lockers to take a sip of water in between food stuffs

The only sick feeling that I get on food is when a customer is still ordering food after 5 different warmed items that I can’t throw in together during a peak rush. Especially when I know that there are at least two more orders like this coming before end of peak…
But real answer: I haven’t gotten sick after being on the oven in the almost three years I’ve been at Starbucks surprisingly. Even though our ovens are so heavily used that after the last maintenance one of them had the tech said that we “should try to not use our oven as much”. 😭

I get queasy after a while but it's just from the smell of cooked eggs. There's only so much I can handle. Bleh.
