I’ve made myself just a little late for early morning shifts because, even if I am actually awake on time, I still want to spend a few extra minutes warm and comfortable in my bed before someone stupid asks me something stupid for like 8 hours in a row.

This is not starbucks specific. Before I worked for the company, I was a public employee long-term. I used to feel like every minute was my own lest the taxpayers get more than they paid for. I cleaned toilets. During Covid I would cry myself awake some mornings.
