This. I was so relieved when I learned this, because yeah I did not like the looks-very-much-underbaked texture of the inside of cake pops one bit.

THIS!!! I have had customer come and complain that they got a raw cake pop 😭🤦🏻‍♂️! I always to try to explain that the cake pop is cooked and that’s it intended texture and they never believe me 😂

look up how cake pops are made, it’s just mashed up cooked cake mixed with icing, formed into a shape, and covered in chocolate, they’re not undercooked

They’re not undercooked. Next time you’re there try this. Hold up a cake pop, and then hold up a piece of actual cake that’s comparable in size. Two things to notice: 1) if you actually bought a piece of cake that size it would only be like literally half a bite of cake. 2) the cake pop is a lot heavier than it would be if it was an actual piece of cake that size.

Cake pops are just denser than normal cake because if they were light and fluffy like normal cake you’d be getting ONE half-of-a-bite of cake.

Bonus 3) if you bake your own cakes at home you might notice how it’s basically impossible to get normal cake batter to look like that because either it will be undercooked and just fall off the stick in a goopy mess, or it will be over cooked and fluffy. Cake pops are just cake that doesn’t have all the little air bubbles in it so you can pack the whole serving in a tiny space.
