I'm sorry the barista was rude, but many stores have peppermint syrup all year round :)
This year a lot of stores have been affected by warehouse distribution issues, so many syrups have been hard to come by and stocking syrups has been very intermittent, if at all. Since peppermint is "in" again, it may be constantly in an out of stock, depending on how things are going with distribution.

Yeah at my store we have it all year long, but we ran out in probably August? And then we finally got it in I’d say early Oct. I know our store has been having very inconsistent deliveries of our RP order as well.
