Wisdom teeth & Starbucks (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by phantasmaldream
Hi, I just got my wisdom teeth out (only 2) and I'm like still drooly and its hard to talk. I took off Saturday and Sunday, which my store has gotten high 50's and 70's because of two other store closings. This makes me feel super bad that I couldn't help. I think I will get slightly better tomorrow for my Monday shift (2-7) but I'm nervous if I need to call out for Monday. I feel bad not showing up to work after not working for like 3 days. I was thinking I could just do customer support or bar if I'm not drooling as much but I don't know. Any advice?

I also want a frappucino or a milkshake so bad right now lmao :o(

EDIT: Thank you all for your kind responses. I did end up taking off and relaxed that day, very well worth it. Thank you!

Don’t feel bad! Sometimes you need to put yourself first and if they’re not understanding make sure to have a doctor’s note! More than likely they’re going to need to see one at my store. You need to rest as you’re still going to be on pain medication and won’t be so on your feet as much or the sharpest.

You don’t owe Starbucks your health. Stay at home rest up use those sick hours. The store will live to see another day, take the rest that you need and come in feeling better

you don't need to feel bad for taking time for your own recovery, your store is not your responsibility

take the time necessary to take care of yourself! your fellow partners will understand! i’m sure they’d much rather you be at 100% capacity rather than anything less, and you don’t want to put too much strain on yourself during the healing process anyhow.
