How to give feedback to Mangers? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by savagesimp
I've been working at my location since September now, as a new employee I feel a bit frustrated with the way my manger suddenly shifts me around. I don't know how to explain it properly but everytime I get suddenly "pushed" (no one is actually physically touching me) off a position into something else it makes me feel like I wasn't doing a good enough job.

Granted as a very busy store I know it is hard to have full conversations as we are constantly moving and doing other things. Though I feel that with our newer baristas we have to make sure they know they aren't doing anything wrong either.

No I'm not saying to hold our hands through everything but just a simple "Hey, we are going to move you for now since it's busy" makes the whole transition better or less stressful. Then again how are we supposed to gain speed if you just take someone off when this could be a learning experience.

Truly sometimes I wonder why we favor speed over quality. If we aren't rushing, less drinks are wrong.

you can always tell your sm but to be honest, it’s how starbucks is. i get moved in positions all the time, it’s supposed to avoid burn out on what you’re doing. when your ssv is moving people they likely have an idea of the floor plan for the day and are moving you to it.

Talk to your shift about it if you feel like you can't talk to your manager about it

Also note what time of day it is and what kind of partners are taking over. For peak, everything is shifted so your strongest bar peeps are there, etc.

I get it tho. It def makes you feel like you're doing terrible. But let them know that you'd like more time in x position so you can get better at it, and they'll probably try to do that for you.
