I work at a Starbucks within a Safeway, and today I had these customers come in and order 3 fraps all with drizzle, so I rang up the first two with drizzle and as I go to ring up the third one, one of the girls asks me why I charged her and I told her I had to, she proceeds to tell me that my manager doesn’t charge her for extras and I say “I don’t know what to tell you, I’m just doing my job”
(honestly I was so overwhelmed and done with my job at this point that I was not being nice, I wasn’t rude, but I dropped my friendly tone right away)
since she had interrupted me, I forgot to ring up the third drizzle, which you would think would be a good thing, right? Wrong.
She waits till after she pays and goes to the counter and says, “now that I’ve paid, explain this to me, why did you only ring me up for 2 drizzles? We had three drinks all with extras.”
I was so irritated I literally just said “I can go ring you up for that drizzle right now”
And she said “no because I already paid” with a smug look on her face.
She continued to complain and say that we just picked and chose what extras we charged for, and so I just walked away and called the store manager (the Starbucks manager was not there at the time). The store manager sided with me and told me I didn’t do anything wrong. Which is the first time a store manager has actually sided with me in this shithole.
Anyways, I just thought this story would get a rise out of some baristas who understand my struggle haha.
TLDR: I charged a girl for drizzle on two of her drinks, she got mad. Didn’t charge on one of the drinks (accidentally) and she was mad. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t, I guess.
