We got two mobile orders for paninis and they both said “not warmed” on the sticker. I had never seen this before. After a third mobile sandwich order arrived with the “not warmed” instruction, I checked the mobile app, and in an apparent software error, the default for the entire group of hot sandwiches is set to “not warmed”.

I agree with you! I had never seen this before, and when we got the third order we recognized the customer (I'm at a small store that's drive-thru only and we have a strong base of regular customers) and wait until he arrived so we could verify the order. He said he wanted it heated, so I checked the app and saw that the "Hot Sandwiches" menu items are set to be "NOT WARMED" by default.

It should be NOT WARMED then on the sticker. A lot of the times it shows nothing about warming, so I warm it by default unless it’s stated on the sticker to not

The point I was trying to make is that suddenly on Saturday, mobile orders for these hot sandwiches were arriving with the sticker saying "NOT WARMED" and that seemed odd. When it happened a third time and we knew who the customer was, our suspicions that "something seems to be wrong" raised another nothc. I checked the phone app and this ordering tool was set to default the warmed sandwiches to "NOT WARMED": it seemed that something was wrong with the app.

I actually contacted Starbucks, spoke with Customer Service on Monday, and she understood how unusual and problematic this was, and she told me she would escalate the technical issue to someone who works with the technology.
