Idk about menu items, but for me it’s shaken espressos with cold foam. Sooo much running back and forth between stations just for one drink

the current most annoying/complicated are probably the mocha cookie and caramel crunch. not difficult to make, just *why* must they consume so much time. 😭 hate em.

Most things with cold foam are annoying just bc it requires me to leave my bar. Plus with all of the different types of foam, most of them look exactly the same and only two pitchers it throws a wrench in any sequence.
I also hate making layered fraps JUST because they’re literally a scam

the iced matcha latte is like the least complicated drink it’s just powder and milk. it might be annoying to go walk over and put the powder in but it’s far from complicated

I had someone order three Caramel ribbon crunch frappes in venti size one with soy, one with 2%, one with whole, all had extra pumps of sf vanilla and all were topped with vsccf AS WELL as whipped cream.

Complicated? For me it’s the undertows only because holding the damn spoon in such a way so as to not spill the espresso all over the place is just nerve wracking.

I have a couple. 1. medicine balls. i get it they’re delicious but with the honey blend shortage it reallyyy sucks. 2 iced london fog lattes. again delicious and i have no problem if you understand the wait time. 3. ANY of the layered frappuccinos. they’re so annoying and messy to make. 4. Non-dairy cappuccinos. They’re so hard to foam and the people that order them are so picky.

Anything that uses the cold foam only because it’s a whole separate process make the cold foam. The one drink I could never remember (because no one ordered it) was the double shot on ice

Iced caramel macchiato with dark caramel and extra caramel drizzle with Irish cream cold foam and blend with steamed 1/2 lemonade and 2% also with 9 pumps of caramel and 6 pumps of vanilla....



Some order this today and took me 3 mins to punch it in because I'm new

unpopular opinion, but when people order brewed coffee. like if it isn’t ready you have to remake it, then they complain about it taking 5 minutes. like cmon. OR when people order americanos with like 50000 different things inside but not water😐

Anything with cold foam, especially hot coffee... it's just stupid and pointless

Mocha cookie crumble Frappuccino’s. When I was a barista in the mall, We used to have people order several of them back to back with the caramel Ribbon crunch during peak. We would run out of caramel drizzle and they would get mad at us for suggesting more dark caramel as a substitute.

We would also have people always ask for extra extra caramel drizzle and we would start charging people and they would give us issues. “Um… why does my drink cost $9?” It’s because you added more caramel than the recipe calls for and we only have a limited supply and have to have enough for the high demand. They would always roll their eyes and accept it but then would complain when they got their drink and ask for more caramel drizzle on top.

Not to mention all the extra steps. We have to put whipped cream at the bottom and the topping, pour the drink, put MORE whipped cream, MORE sauce, and then shake more topping. At this point, you’re not even ordering coffee. You’re ordering desert.

It was so annoying and then having to do it 8 times all within a 10 minute period. By the end you prayed no one would order any more but it was the most popular drink so you would just get another one in a few minutes.

The store I worked at, you would spend your whole shift at the cold bar station and then would wonder why you even have a hot bar at all.

Once TikTok explode, we had people start adding cold foam to their Frappuccino. I started to tell them, I don’t mind charging you an extra dollar just for another form of whipped cream. And then they would pay $10 just so they can feel like they are part of the TikTok trend.

I’m glad I quit.

Most complicated: the cookie crumble/caramel crunch ones with the whip/drizzle/toppings in the bottom and the top. Up and down the cold bar 25 times for one drink. Tied with the shaken espressos because the shots and syrups amount is weird to me

Most annoying: the damn matcha drinks when the matcha gets everywhere, clumps together and is just generally a hot mess. Tied with when someone wants a brewed tea over ice and you’ve got to have it just sit there for five minutes and not forget about it.

I don’t know if it’s of all time or current, but when we had smoothies. Orange mango and strawberry. Tedious, never the same consistency like a Frappuccino. So you’re either slamming the pitcher to get it out, or it was runny. I miss the orange mango juice, just not the whole smoothie process.

Shaken anything with any kind of cold foam. Or the goddamn funnel cake frap

We get a girl who comes regularly and gets a venti iced green tea latte made with half almond milk, half coconut milk, pumps of classic, with strawberry purée foam on top. Makes me want to scream every time.

It has to be the cold foam drinks but now everything has cold foam now so I get happy when I see normal cold foam drink lol. I see people saying Shaken espresso drinks but I find those the easiest lol

For standard menu drinks? Honey Citrus Mint Tea. Man do I hate it.

when people get shaken espressos with extra shots but then change a bunch of the syrups so now I actually have to think abt what I'm doing lol plus I always forget abt blond shots. and also the fact that like there is no sequencing with those I got 3 venti ones in a row and we were slammed at the time too

Agree on iced matchas, anything with a flavored cold foam is also a pain. It’s not that they’re exactly complicated, it’s just that the ingredients are rarely right next to each other.
