Struggling ssv (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Common-Ad5348
I have been an ssv for about 6 months. By now I know I should have everything down pat but when I became an ssv my store manager left for about 4 months so my feedback has been a little wonky. I never try to show negative emotions at work but the past couple times I’ve cried at work. I told my asm that I feel overwhelmed and very embarrassed by the shifts I have been running. When I tell my other ssv’s they just say “well that’s part of the job” or “well no one respects you that’s why” which isn’t helpful. Can anyone give me advice about how to be the best ssv I can be?

Do what you can, not what you can’t. Find a rhythm to what you need done, what can be done, what will not be done.

Understand that your partners are your biggest tools, and to make sure they know you appreciate their hard work and what you expect of them.

I was in your position too, it sucked. I know everyone hates this line but it’s really just coffee, you’re a supervisor and customers are dicks. Protect your partners and don’t run yourself into the ground to please corporate, customers and partners all at the same time. It’s not possible.

You got this! It’s okay to fail, it’s okay to fuck up, I still do after almost 4 years. Learn from your mistakes and grow!! You’re powerful!

This turned into a pep talk for myself too lol.
