The 5% is only for tenured partners in January. The summer raise is for everyone to be at $15 base pay

They said something about how with the new pay, they’ll take into account people who have been with the company for 2+ years. My guess is all the baristas who keep getting relegated back to starting pay every time they raise starting pay have complained enough that it’s become enough of an issue for corporate to pretend to care about now.

As far as I know, it is somewhat proportional to what you are making currently. A partner at my location has been with the company for 15+ years and they are making almost as much me as an SSV.

From an article published by Nasdaq:
“The company said the hourly wages for the baristas will be $15 and rise all the way to $23 by next summer. "U.S. hourly partners will average nearly $17/ hr. with a new range of $15-$23 for baristas in Summer 2022," Starbucks said. Currently, the company reportedly pays $14 per hour as the base payment.”
