Hate the double standard here. I don't think people understand that women are capable of sexually harassing too. Very uncomfortable, very inappropriate for a work space. Its not "cute" or "charismatic". Just kinda gross.

i used to have a 50 smth year old coworker who would do the exact same thing!!!! i could tell she made the male customers uncomfortable, and my manager was well aware but never did anything! there really is a double standard when it comes to older women being gross to younger guys; if it was flipped should would have been fired long ago. luckily she left after our store closed during covid in early 2020, so we haven’t had to deal with her for some time now lol

it definitely sounds like sexual harassment. older folks hide behind the “I was raised in a different time!” In order to excuse their bad behaviors as if that’s okay. if your SM won’t do anything about it I’d go to DM and tell them she is disrupting the third place environment for some customers and making them uncomfortable.

that sounds like sexual harassment to me. when determining if it’s sexual harassment, the (potential) harasser’s intent does not matter. what matters is who is affected by the behavior and how they feel. that could be the customer directly receiving the harassment, OR, the partner hearing the conversations and feeling uncomfortable. your discomfort should be taken seriously and it’s not only gross but i think it violates the company’s sexual harassment policy to just ignore this! it’s also fucked that multiple customers have complained and management still does nothing.

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this and it’s really not okay. your managers are supposed to take this seriously. If you’re comfortable you could try reporting this - i forget what resources are appropriate for reporting this tho.

context: i no longer work at starbucks but i remember the sexual harassment training. i also used to teach high school & middle school kids about sexual harassment (among other things) when i worked for a rape crisis center. lmk if you have any questions or need help dealing with this!
