She is a shift and I’m a new barista that’s why I think it’s a problem it’s a conflict of interest
voxinx 5 points 1y ago
y’all would prob just never work together
Alternative-Let-8360 1 points 1y ago
That’s what I’m worried about we are both students and we both can only work weekdays after 3.

Wait is there a rule where family members can’t work together?
Alternative-Let-8360 5 points 1y ago
My 2 cousin in the story is a shift supervisor and I’m a barista so it’s a conflict of interest and against the rules

It’s pretty distant. I think it should be fine.

It’s okay! Don’t panic! You’re not going to get in trouble, they probably just want to give you a dumb lecture on not asking for special treatment that’s all. You’ll be okay!

You should not have to work separately unless there is a reason to believe it is presenting a conflict of interest. If they were like "hey I know you hate DT so you're bar tonight, family has to look out for each other" that's a problem. But you aren't directly related and you didn't even realize it so there isn't a close personal relationship. Your manager knows which is all that's required. In fact, if they tried to say you couldn't work together, I would call PRSC

At my old store a shift and barista were married. They just didn’t work the same shifts.

Lol I worked at the same store as my brother for a year I can’t imagine they go any further than talking to both of you about it
