There is a nail salon going in NEXT TO my store and I told the ASM that was just rude.
asinglearrow 32 points 1y ago
i keep buying nail polish knowing very well i won’t be able to wear it at work XD
Fluffybunnybadass 1 points 1y ago
Same. I just save it for my 3+ days off moments. Aka vacations.
asinglearrow 1 points 1y ago
my schedule for the past couple months has been work friday/saturday/sunday and i have the rest of the week off, so i could reasonably paint my nails once a week and then take it off before my shift the next day. however, it takes a while for me to sit down and do my nails (‘cause i do nail art lmao), so i can’t just do that. good thing i’m quitting ‘cause now i can wear nail polish for weeks at a time and also keep my nails long without risking them breaking XD
Fluffybunnybadass 1 points 1y ago
Haha well grats on leaving!! That's my dream to do in 2 years' time, once i get my "coffee break" lmao.

But at least it's an option for the future, if you ever have to work a job where you can't wear nail polish again!
Yosellllin 22 points 1y ago
Same lol
KJ2998SJ 18 points 1y ago
Me too. 😭 I just wants pretty nails
NervosaNervous 17 points 1y ago
Same. I miss my claws lol
storm_and_puddles 15 points 1y ago
I no longer give a shit (or at least until I get caught and/or someone says something lol); it is more probable that my natural nails flake off into someone’s food or drink than my gel polish does. So, until then, I continue to get my nails done and put gloves on when management is around to hide them, that’s my secret 🤐
Beautiful-Director 9 points 1y ago
What kinda of gloves do you use? My SM actually told one of my coworkers she could just wear gloves at work if she got her nails done. Though it was for homecoming so it might have just been a special offer since it was an occasion

I don’t know about other stores, but at mine we have the regular clear food service gloves and then these awful, bright blue ones. I try and get my nails done colors that aren’t too ostentatious and then just slap the regular clear ones over them, but if I have something less subtle, I’ll put the ugly blue ones on and they seem to hide my manicure pretty well. I am also a huge fan of doing dishes because hiding in the back with dish gloves is obviously the most covert way for me to hide my nails when the GM is around. Other than that, I really just suggest French manicures or nude-ish colored nails; it’s not as fun as what I used to do before working FukBux but I definitely will not be giving up my simple pleasure for the Siren!

Same 🥲 i wanted to get mine done on my bday and act like i didnt know about it lol i just missed them looking clean 😂
Substantial-Hair-170 8 points 1y ago
Same! I can’t have long acrylic nails with cool stuffs on it
drinkliquidclocks 7 points 1y ago
Is this a Starbucks thing or is it health code? My licensed store lets us have nails and I see fast food employees with them everyday. I get why that rule exists, but lameee
ElectricalScience8 [OP] 5 points 1y ago
i think it’s just starbucks! i used to work at a licensed store and i was allowed to have my nails done
sleepyteaa 7 points 1y ago
I’ve never actually gone and gotten my nails done (I’ve painted them at home of course) and I’m thinking that once I quit that’ll be my treat to myself , just once
snitchesendupinditch 6 points 1y ago
I miss getting gel manicures so much but the alternative I've found is to use a peel of base coat. At least I can enjoy painted nails on my day(s) off and then the night before work I literally just peel off all the nail polish.
Few_Revenue25 3 points 1y ago
Me too before I worked here I always had my nails done🥺 long, short everything!!
flamingobar 3 points 1y ago
That’s the first thing I did after quitting. I was really excited about it! After 2 years of having minimum nails.
badtz_maru_666 3 points 1y ago
press-ons. I know it’s not the same as getting your nails done but it’s a nice quick fix for when you do want nails for whatever occasion but won’t be able to wear them long due to work.

But also same. I’d love to have my nails done all the time lol
diotheleo 3 points 1y ago
i miss painting my nails so much, all my nail polish is drying out
tinydesthique 2 points 1y ago
press on nails are the way to go! i make my own and i’m planning on making a business out of it (in the process of brainstorming. idk when i’ll finally launch). that’s the only way i can feel pretty outside of work and when i go out with my boyfriend and/or my friends.
madsisdumb 2 points 1y ago
I have 2 weeks before my last shift and im getting my nails done as soon as I clock out.
Abject_Membership_28 2 points 1y ago
I just feel like I’d be better at my job with some pointy black acrylics
lostpuppy1216 2 points 1y ago
ugh i miss having my medium length acrylics 😭
katia_0828 1 points 1y ago
Whenever I have 2+ days off I get press on nails and it works out to how long they last and some of them are really pretty
