I think you will enjoy the job much more if you disconnect any pride or ego attached to it. (Ie CS being humiliating).

You get paid the same CS or bar which is all I care about.

I see lots of posts here about, ie, ‘manager/customer yelled at me now im crying in the bathroom’. Its definitely not that you are any worse of a person for it, but learning to care less would be beneficial to you

i am dumb and super slow at everything and don’t care whenever people call me out for it and I just vibe and wait for the paycheck. You will probably be happier viewing it this way. I can only imagine if I cared about others perception of my performance here I would blow my head off, lol

i've worked for starbucks before at a licensed location and was promoted to supervisor. i left for about 2 years to go to school and now i'm back at a corporate location. my trainer knew i had the basics down so we just did a crash course. i love making drinks, i have the motivation and determination to work, but im slow af. i've told all the SSV's and my SM that i love it here and i can work, i'm just slow compared to their standards. i help on cafe bar during slow periods when someone takes a break but for the most part, during peak, i'm on DTO or front. i want to be able to be reliable and work bar during peak but i can't keep up with drive and i always get swamped with mobiles. CS is a tough position tbh. you're running around and people are yelling for milks or whatever. the ones that work warming or bar deserve praise bc they work their asses off. but we work hard too. the background workers dont usually get praise, so dont take it too personally. you are isolated and dont really communicate with customers, which can be a blessing somedays. hang in there ❤️

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. I legitimately feel a warm glow of affection for whoever is on CS when I'm on bar because they're saving my ass and sanity in a big way. When I'm CS I feel kinda powerful lol, rather than invisible, but I have a strong helper personality so it probably just scratches that itch for me. I hope things get better soon and that you'll feel more appreciated.

u got this! don’t feel discouraged but also don’t let anyone mistreat you! people can be mean to newer partners which i don’t agree with but sometimes it just takes time, you also always have the option to transfer. THANK YOU for the work you do it’s certainly not easy it took me like 6+ months to even be put on bar because i was really slow and would fuck up a lot it’s been years and now i’m ssv. pls don’t let it get to you just try your best that’s all you can do! it gets better i promise:)

Honestly, don't take it to heart. Everyone goes at a different speed and the more your on bar you'll just get faster and faster. And not to mention everyone has off days. When I move someone to cs, a lot of times it's just to give then a break because bar started picked up, or literally someone there is just a more seasoned bar partner. Don't take it to heart, that can and will be you one day if you want it to be.
