This probably is policy to be honest, but it’s targeted towards habitual call outs. As a shift it’s never fun to see someone’s name on the schedule and know they have a 50/50 chance of calling out each time they are scheduled. Also problematic is partners being late more than five minutes often enough to be noticed.

20% of your shifts a week or 20% of your shifts on average? Cause on average that actually makes sense, that's calling out one in five shifts, which does make sense. 20% of your shifts in one week makes no sense for most employees that's calling out once

It's not used for one off call outs - we are looking at a pattern of missed shifts over a period of time and thats what this would apply to. We understand, or at least I do, that things happen. Heck, I've gotten sick before and called off. If we wrote everyone up who missed a single shift.... Well, I would have no partners left. So don't stress :)
