changing hours..? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ambambiii
hiii, why would a (new) manager or any manager be changing my schedule for a week i've already worked? i'm getting notifications about my schedule bein changed and other things but it's from last week, which i obviously already worked??

Watch your paycheck closely and keep track of hours worked vs hours scheduled. This sounds like it could be time theft or manipulating hours worked/scheduled so certain targets are achieved. I replaced an SM who had been doing this.

Could be coverage or non-coverage hours being changed. That happened to me!!

what does that mean?

Coverage is like time you spend on the floor and non coverage is time you spend doing work like restocking or putting away items after a delivery. Starbucks requires that your manager record this stuff so they know how many partners they need on the floor during peak days and how many to accommodate putting away orders and other things (not CS tho). You could have like 4 hours of coverage then like 1 hour of non coverage but still have a punched 5 hours on the app.

This could be true, but still needs to be questioned. At some stores, non-coverage and training hours don’t count towards tips. So if you’re not there for those two reasons, definitely find out what’s going on.

ya know, i've thought my tips were pretty shitty since i'm there allll the time.. i think i've had atleast one non coverage day for a few weeks now... coincidentally they're my longest shifts 🤔 i am definitely gonna be relooking at my past few weeks!!!
