How do you make sweet cream?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by dallizzlee
Everyone in my store says something different, every time.
Betty00112462 points1y ago
In 2l pitchers. 1 whole heavy whipping cream. 350 mL vanilla . 2% to the 2L line. Wisk
SnugBear48 points1y ago
I believe it's supposed to be 1L Heavy, 350mL Vanilla, and then 2% to 2L line (although technically you're supposed to do 650mL).
board-certified1 points1y ago
it’s 600mL 2%, 350 mL vanilla, HC to the 2L line
coconutncracka5 points1y ago
yep!
Christyawn21 points1y ago
600 2% (instead of to the 2L line) other wise it doesn’t foam consistently at the 100ml in the cold foam blender. i swear by this.
FfierceLaw18 points1y ago
100% this! Only 600 ml 2% to keep your foam from being too soupy. People keep filling it up and then I have to add more hc to the blender pitcher to get good foam
darkwolf5236 points1y ago
^this. This right here. Every time I have to do my daily testing of sweet cream and see if it makes good cold form. Most of the time it’s too milky
kqs134 points1y ago
It's 600 mL of 2%, which doesn't quite go to the 2L line
board-certified0 points1y ago
it’s 600mL 2%, 350 mL vanilla, HC to the 2L line
HamburgIar_46 points1y ago
Standard is 600ml 2% , 350ml vanilla, 1 liter HC for one 2liter pitcher
hellopie75 points1y ago
You are correct friend.
board-certified-9 points1y ago
it’s 600mL 2%, 350 mL vanilla, HC to the 2L line
OtherAcctTrackedNSA3 points1y ago
Nope. That’s too much HC. Finished pitcher should be a little below the 2L line. Your first step is pouring HC to 1L mark in 2L pitcher. Then measure the other 2 ingredients in the cf pitcher.
thatoneblondee2 points1y ago
Seconding this by saying the space used by the first 2 ingredients is 1L, so filling from the 1L to the 2L line is 1L of HC. Therefore, you are correct! (This is how I was taught to remember it as well!)
HamburgIar_1 points1y ago
No...it's not
board-certified-10 points1y ago
yes, it is
HamburgIar_5 points1y ago
You are spreading inaccurate info. Check the standard next time you have access to the hub.

i’ve been working at starbucks for two and a half months and i have no idea. i made one pitcher on like my 2nd day of training and i don’t remember how to do it now
promisestorm6 points1y ago
i feel like this is a common thing. i just started and some of the basic stuff to make completely left my mind lmao it makes me feel so dumbbbb
No-Pearl0006 points1y ago
i forgot how to brew pike until last week 😭 i also have yet to pre close so idk how to do it (let’s hope i’m not jinxing myself for my shift in an hour)
LuissaMartinez1 points1y ago
Ima be honest I don’t even know how to brew pike 😅 I’m normally solo driving or CS lmao
No-Pearl0001 points1y ago
pls i literally found out how bc of reddit
Kaori1519 points1y ago
1 bottle of vanilla, 3L of heavy cream, and 1.75L of 2% milk in a cube.
be_wilder_everyday8 points1y ago
We also make it by the cube and use 1-2-3, 1 vanilla bottle, 2L of 2%, 3L heavy cream
croissantboyy4 points1y ago
this is exactly how we do it lmao we have 2-3 cubes on hand always
although more accurately it's a whole bottle plus another 7-8 pumps of vanilla lol
edit to add last sentence
missthemac9 points1y ago
For a medium amount, use a steaming pitcher and do 13 pumps vanilla, 2% to the tall line, then heavy cream to the max line. for a large amount, in a 2L pitcher add 1L of heavy cream, then in a cold foam pitcher measure 350ml of vanilla (do not blend) and add to the 2L pitcher. again in a cold foam pitcher, measure 600ml of 2% (do not blend) and add it to the 2L pitcher with heavy cream and vanilla. Shelf life is 48hrs. This is directly out of the beverage resource manual, so I know for a fact it’s correct! :)
lolfuckigottawork8 points1y ago
So there's the right way... and there's the way my store does it 😅 on a cube: 1 bottle of vanilla, 2 bottles of heavy cream, and 2% past the notch on the cube just a little bit
Blue-Jay276 points1y ago
1L vanilla syrup, 3L heavy whipping cream, 1.75L 2%

Butterflybo0ty5 points1y ago
I follow my heart
Sirmarchboy224 points1y ago
Ok see, I am very anal about making the right ratios for the cubes tbh. It's not one full bottle of vanilla. It's a bottle and 150 mils of another one. And a lot of people add a full bottle of heavy cream, but that's .75 more liters then needed.
lostinmysenses1 points1y ago
What would be the actual measurements for everything?
board-certified2 points1y ago
actually measurements are 3150 mL HC, 1050 mL vanilla, and 1800 mL 2%
Sirmarchboy221 points1y ago
3 liters heavy cream, bottle + 150 milliliters of vanilla and 1600 2%
MayerTawfik3 points1y ago
For one 2L pitcher: 1L Heavy Cream, 350mL of Vanilla, and 2% to the 2L line
board-certified2 points1y ago
it’s 600mL 2%, 350 mL vanilla, HC to the 2L line
MayerTawfik1 points1y ago
Basically the same thing If I calculated correctly
Heythere_Ambear2 points1y ago
You should always measure out the 1 liter of HC first when making in a 2L pitcher. I’ve seen sooo many baristas get so confused when measuring, because they are pouring 350ml of vanilla or 600ml of 2% in a pitcher first and then choosing to do heavy cream as part of the second step. And for the love of God…whisk it. Too many people just pour it all together and then dump it in a cube or toddy and everything settles at the bottom
siestasierra2 points1y ago
i don’t know the recipe, but my store makes our sweet cream in toddies lol
calimac902 points1y ago
So does it just sit in a walk in or fridge? Lol
siestasierra3 points1y ago
yeah, we keep it in the walk-in and fill up pitchers throughout the day
GreenBoysenberry20652 points1y ago
https://sbuxdates.com/cheat_sheet.pdf this is the best tool. I saved the link as a app on my phone
No-Pearl0001 points1y ago
you are a god send
SnooGoats85082 points1y ago
1 bottle of vanilla, 3L heavy cream, and 2L 2%, at my store😅
fyiava1 points1y ago
1 cube, 1 bottle vanilla, 2 liters of 2% milk, 3 liters of heavy whipping cream. These measurements will measure out 3 pitchers to the 2 liters mark EXACTLY for each one.
kostplay1 points1y ago
my store does it where you get the cold foam blender thing & put vanilla up to the 300 line. in the pitcher itself, put HWC to the 1 line, add the 300 oz. of vanilla syrup, and top it off with whole milk:)
fawnaluna1 points1y ago
we have a sheet that tells us what measurements to do, but i do heavy cream to the 1L line, take the sweet cream pitcher to measure 350mL of vanilla, and then 2% to the 2L line. Technically you’re supposed to measure the 2% in the pitcher too but i don’t get paid enough for that.
deeciphered1 points1y ago
Get a cold foam pitcher and a 2L pitcher. Fill the 2L up to the 1L line with Heavy whipping cream. Fill the cold foam pitcher to the 300mL line with vanilla syrup and add that to the pitcher. Fill the cold foam pitcher with 2% milk to the 600mL line and add that to the pitcher. Agitate with a whisk/spoon to mix it together
LuissaMartinez1 points1y ago
4 heavy creams, one bottle of vanilla, then 2% to the top of the cubes riges but people at my store also don’t do it right half the time so 😂
Beneficial_Ad_70441 points1y ago
I was taught 13 pumps of vanilla syrup and pour heavy cream to the max line in the pitcher.
rosebudftw1 points1y ago
1 vanilla, 3L heavy cream, 1.75L 2% and I do it in the 2L pitchers to measure bc it has a 1.75L line so accuracy. Pour into cube and mix.
reginaldioz1 points1y ago
i make it in each individual one, everyone else seems to batch omg
poetixvirgo1 points1y ago
1 and a half bottles of HC, a full bottle of vanilla then grabbing the cold foam pitcher and to the 950ml line pour 2% milk *2 then whisk for your life
JustViolet12_7_2_201 points1y ago
350 ml vanilla syrup, 2 liters whipping cream, fill rest of blender with 2%, pour in pitcher and label
LeatherTurnip12240 points1y ago
I do it probably the most time consuming way but it’s how I learned to do it. Steaming pitcher, 12 pumps of syrup in the bottom, 2% to the tall line, heavy cream to the max line. Repeat process 3 more times into a 2l pitcher
5962596213 points1y ago
Don't do this lol
LeatherTurnip12244 points1y ago
Imma just change the way I do it…in my defense a shift taught me this way 😅
miniinovaa3 points1y ago
Why lol I was taught this too
596259628 points1y ago
It's needlessly long lol
Christyawn0 points1y ago
it ensures consistent foaming tho.
croissantboyy11 points1y ago
there's an actual official recipe to make it by the 2L pitchers. it's a liter of heavy cream into the 2L pitcher, then 350 ml of vanilla and 600 ml of 2% (use the cold foam pitcher to measure vanilla and 2%)
SnugBear11 points1y ago
Wait... What?
adolfop_4203 points1y ago
This is the right way too but if you search it on partner hub you will see this is the smallest batch you can make and then the biggest one they guide you on how to do is the 2L pitcher
sirensongbiird1 points1y ago
This is exactly how I was taught and how my store does it as well!
