Is the ASU online program REALLY WORTH IT for us Starbucks partners (Honest opinion)(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MemesandSpeech
Possibly returning back next week and I have my eye KEEN on ASU ONLINE. Problem is, **I do not know** know what to go for in major for my Bachelor's Degree! I already have an associates degree in Liberal Arts but I also want to get something more meaningful (I've been thinking of going for business major or computer) because honestly I don't know....
To the partners who are enrolled in ASU or graduated, Please give me your honest opinion of it all (Major, life story, degree, etc. ALL OF IT TO HELP ME DECIDE ON WHAT TO DO FOR ME!)
I'm stuck between ASU or Trade School in NYC

I am completing my degree through ASU majoring in Business administration and as long as you are okay with a very fast pace then it’s great! No college debt is what keeps me going!

Thinking of doing it for the dare I say "future career" (Better job position)
Also how's the application process like? Might not be able to put my parents information for fafsa so just wanna make sure I'm still somewhat covered or if that maybe a problem.

I couldn't keep affording 2k every quarter so for me it's worth it

Hows the fafsa application process like if you don't mind me asking?

It's not bad, you just full everything out and Starbucks covers whatever else FAFSA doesn't. Now they pay tuition upfront instead of reimbursement after the semester which has made things a lot easier

What 2k?

$2000 in tuition and class fees every quarter

So the $100% tuition isn't 100%??? I understand books and whatnot. But anything else and I'm confused.

What I'm saying is that working at Starbucks is worth it to me because it saves me the cost of tuition. Before starting at Starbucks I was paying for school out of pocket

Graduating from ASU in december. I quit a few weeks ago, but my last semester was already paid for. I fucking hated the job but it was 100% worth it to stick around for it. I feel less guilty about going into debt for my masters since I have no debt from my undergrad. They have quite a options to choose from degree wise and i’ve genuinely enjoyed my time at ASU!

Current ASU student and imo it's absolutely worth it. I've found the professors to be overwhelmingly helpful and the coursework easy to manage with working 35+ hours a week. Depending on what trade you're looking into, business degrees are always great to couple with trade skills if you plan on owning your own business.

My husband worked for Starbucks before I did. We struggled hard for 4 years while we both worked full time him at Starbucks and me at another food service job. He pushed through ASU and hating Starbucks, and now has a job making 3X what he Made as a SSV. Now I’m at the siren doing the same except I’m not having to work as many hours thankfully. As much as I dislike the company Starbucks helped me and my husband get out of the family cycle of constantly living paycheck to paycheck so I have to be thankful. Even if you can only take 1 or 2 classes a semester it’s worth it. They are fully accredited and can transfer even if you decide not to stay with the Siren.
