Starbucks creates a french vanilla flavor by doing vanilla and hazelnut. If you don't have hazelnut, you don't have french vanilla.
My question is, how new are you?

But french vanilla isn’t vanilla

Uhhh. That’s not how it works… why would you make an incorrect drink for a customer? Most baristas knows French Vanilla is hazelnut+vanilla for Starbucks. Hazelnut is very scarce so he’d be correct to say you only have regular vanilla unless you have hazelnut?

I mean, 99% of the time they just want hazelnut vanilla, but for some reason they think it’s so difficult to just actually say “hazelnut vanilla.”
Fun trivia: what is French vanilla?
Answer: it’s vanilla custard. There’s no hazelnut in actual French vanilla. Basically, French vanilla is vanilla eggs 😂.

last time someone asked me for french vanilla, i just told them that we use vanilla and hazelnut for that but we are out of our hazelnut. i suggested that that we can replace the hazelnut with brown sugar syrup for a similar taste, i learned this from a costumer but i’ve never tried this myself

French vanilla is the name of a popular drink at tim Hortons, that’s probably why they were asking.
