You can google the dress code, super easy to look up. Pretty much neutral colors, solids, no rips, slogans or graphics. Shoes should be non slip.
Starbucks opened a new door of dumb motherquackers for me, and I honestly don’t know how to express my feelings about this.
You’re going to question why you applied and why people suck.
Depending on if you open or close, I honestly feel like the two are totally different each other as in peak time, customers and overall experience.
My experience working mornings is just filled with being rushed first thing you get there, getting the store ready and prepping. The customers are just rude and honestly I could spit in each of their cups if I could.
Evening shifts always seem to be pretty lax and have a chill vibe. There is peak during dinner and probably closing but besides that, you aren’t constantly rushed through your entire shift. Evening shift usually pertains to cleaning the store and prepping as well.
Take your time, and ask a lot of questions. You may or may not be hated by your entire team until everything starts to click and you pick things up quicker when it’s easier. It takes about 3-6 months for a new employee to fully be able to work efficiently.
If you’re Drive Through Order(DTO) or taking Cafe orders just tell the person you’re still new and still training. Most of them will understand.
Always repeat the drink order back to the customer to confirm the order is correct. Always ask if it’s iced or hot cus these dumb clucks expect you to be a mind reader. Just clarify the order cus people are stupid.
Tell the customer in DTO to SPEAK TF UP if you can’t hear them cus people love talking to their steering wheel/phone than toward the screen/menu.
If someone is subbing for an alternative milk from 2% ask if whipped cream is wanted still since the person will most likely be lactose intolerant. 2% milk is the standard milk most drinks will be made with unless specified otherwise.
Please don’t stand there and do absolutely nothing. Ask if there’s anything anyone needs, stock, change sanitation buckets, get new microfiber wipes, change garbages, wipe your area clean from spills. If it’s slow and you’re doing nothing, help out. I’m not saying you constantly need to be doing something but help out where it’s need.
Oven. Please always watch out for hot oil/cheese/butter etc etc. I recently burned my arm with hot oil from the Oven.
It’s okay to make mistakes.

this is for my store specifically, but every store is different. leather black shoes covering your entire feet that are nonslip (i say this is required everywhere bc you will spill a lot of shit on them, and you will be walking on wet mats and wet floors all day long trying not to slip off ur ass). black pants, khakis, tan pants, brown pants, or dark blue jeans. corduroy pants are fine if they're brown, black, dark blue, khaki, tan, etc. cant wear hoodies. i don't think we can wear plain white T shirts (u can wear long sleeve white shirts i think tho?) also for my store u can't wear tops that fall kind of far below (not enough to show cleavage but still can't wear them). stripes on shirts are fine i think. long sleeves are fine. sweatshirts are fine. cardigans are fine. nothing can show logos, have to cover up logos or else they'll tell you to turn it inside out so it doesn't show. have to wear leggings under dresses or skirts. apron has to be clean (i don't always follow this i just kind of hide my apron as i run around the store when i first get there if i haven't done my laundry yet). also my store doesn't care if we show our necklaces or have long earrings or not but i know for some stores u have to cover them up so better be safe than sorry.
for piercings you're allowed 1 facial piercing (this is definitely different for lots of different stores), i think there's a limit on ear piercings but at my store no one cares.
no tattoos on neck, face, and i think hands? i'm not sure about hands tho
random dress code requirements that are new so idk if every store follows them : the new dress code that recently came out said you can't wear skirts or dresses with patterns on them (so like plaids or tartan or argyle etc even if they're black, navy, dark gray). socks have to be solid color, no patterns either or logos ofc.
basically my day to day wear is black pants or cute tight khakis with a black long sleeve or black t shirt. as it's getting cold ima start wearing a brown cardigan and black cardigan. i've been wearing these shoes from jcpenny for the year i've been working here and they've held up pretty good and don't hurt my feet that bad. i think they're sold out right now though :(
