Cliquey/ blatantly rude coworkers (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ChampionshipWorth889
Ever since I started at my store, my coworkers have done a very good job at making me feel unwelcome and it’s very clear that they all have their own cliques. A lot of the times I will ask one of them a question and they blatantly ignore me, and I know there’s no possible way they didn’t hear me since I said it right next to them. Today I said bye to a couple of them before leaving and they acted like they didn’t hear me again. I also over hear them talking shit about other partners for the stupidest most minute things. I’m always very nice to them and try to be as helpful is I can be when I’m not busy ,so their behavior is super uncalled for. Anybody else going through the same thing?

Man, if I were you I'd find another job. Nice coworkers is half the fun

I agree, wish I could but unfortunately I’m stuck with Starbucks since I’m doing their free college program 😖

You can transfer to a different Starbucks maybe? Having nice coworkers makes such a big difference, and it’ll help with burnout during peak to have a supportive work atmosphere!

My coworkers are like that too :/ I just try not to talk to anyone, do my job and then leave. It’s irritating but I don’t really want to bring management into it

We shall make it through this friend :’)

Things like this change. More cool people will get hired, be their friend, maybe someone great will transfer in. Maybe one or more of the cliquers will grow up a bit and realize how great you are, just give it a minute and be on here with us too

See if you can transfer to a different store. They’re not creating a home for you and that’s only going to hurt you in the long run if you stay at that store.

I’m sorry but I’d quit or transfer. I’ve been working for a few weeks and can’t imagine not having the help of all my coworkers constantly because it’s alot to figure out along the way. Customers will always be rude so it’s nice to come back to nice coworkers!

I agree :( I’m in the middle of switching to morning shifts. Let’s see if my coworkers at that time are any better. If not I’m asking for a transfer asap.

Ugh must be nice 🥲, I honestly want to do that but I don’t know how to go about picking up a shift at another store

Ask for a transfer, most stores are better than that. Starbucks family is a real thing.
