Thank you!
Okay, so for some background I had worked at a grocery store starbux (as well as their customer service department) for about 3 years, and left that company in Dec. Of 2020, as I was just...looking for a change & was tired of constantly being talked down on by managers.
Since then, I've had some really, really bad luck with jobs (I'm trans FTM and have been called slurs, was fired from a pet board & groom place for refusing to work ONE SHIFT THAT I HAD FOUND COVERAGE FOR while waiting on covid test results...you name it & it's probably happened this year lol) and around October I thought 'well, you liked the grocery store bux, why not give a corporate store a try?' So, I applied & was hired & my first couple of weeks went amazing. I made some new friends, and although it was busy it was manageable.
Then, we changed store hours to close at 7pm instead of 9pm at the start of november, but I was still regularly scheculed until 9:30 for 'extra, after hours training'.
This was gonna cause some problems for me schedule-wise and I had talked to the SM about it & was told to deal with it, so I did, until one saturday.
I ALWAYS took screenshots of my schedule from the app, and also checked it twice a week (mon/thurs) bc my unhelpful store manager would consistently change the schedule without telling anyone. As of the Thursday before my day off on saturday, it was still a day off, so I had made an HRT checkup apointment & some plans with friends.
Now, it's 11:05am on the saturday. I am just about to get in the shower & get ready for my apointment when I get a phone call from my shift manager. There was no greeting, just a "your ass better be pulling into the parking lot, like now. You were supposed to be here 5 minutes ago." I explain that no, I have 2 different screenshots stating that I had the day off, and that I wouldn't be in because I had an appointment. She hung up on me, and then sent me a text with my name on the schedule for that day, with the words 'no call no show' next to it, and the text just said "we'll talk tomorrow".
So I go about my saturday, have a great day, and go in 45 minutes before my shift on sunday to hand in my apron. As soon as I walk in my shift is like "Hey BlacksmithVarous576, you're here early!" I nodded & mentioned that I had gotten there early as I knew she wanted to talk to me about the miscommunication yesterday, but she never came back. I waited for 45 minutes to talk to her, and when it finally came time for me to clock in, I got her attention and told her that I left my apron in the back & decided that this just...wasn't an environment that was good for my mental health & would not be returning to work there.
She got livid, and was like "okay, well what'd you pull me away from the front for? We're busy. Just...get the fuck out of my store and go home. Get out now, and I never want to see you again. Go home."
So I did & I haven't been back.
