What makes your day better at work? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by widespreadbread
Hey everyone, lurker/obligatory not a partner here.

I'm just trying to be a better patron, and I feel that I could be doing more than just quietly asking for my (on-the-menu) drink. So, what has a customer done before for you that absolutely made your day? You know, so I can spread the joy.

I feel like I need to do my part to make up for all the entitled garbage, and I'm sorry y'all have to deal with that.

I appreciate all of you!

Be kind. Be grateful. Look us in the eye and say a sincere thank you. If you have extra $ to spare, tips are always appreciated but never necessary. We appreciate you.

My fellow partners are so funny. We joke around on the headsets when it's slow.

Customers? If they're just genuinely interested in talking to me and treating me like an equal, that's enough for me. I don't ask for much, just common decency (that surprisingly is not so common).

Just be kind and say your thank yous! Also please don't assume pronouns if you can. I get called "ma'am" or "she" a lot when I forget my pronoun pins and it really bums me out. If you have to address us, a name works great! Tips are always appreciated and we appreciate you 💖 the fact you want to make our days better warms my heart!

when you make a point to ask how someone’s day is going or thank them for what they’re doing, those are surprisingly rare and always increase my mood so much

Already wanting to be a better patron is a good step, I appreciate you! :)

Just being understanding and patient goes a long way, costumers that show their thankfulness, I really appreciate. (coming from a 4 month hire)
