This actually sounds like what happened to me last week, except that a) I had reported my SM to Ethics and Compliance first, b) my DM was involved to protect the SM, and c) I quit before they had a chance to fire me.

This is just speculation of course, but I believe that everyone SM and higher in the company is scared of the union stuff going on. Any 'nail' that's 'sticking out', such as your SSV needs to be gotten rid of, because they might stir up ideas in other baristas' heads or round up baristas into voting for a union in their area. They want to keep everyone in line and will use the most un-quantifiable violations possible since those can't be tracked.
