3. 0.75 lemonade the rest water (one lemonade box will makes two pitchers)
4. most bases will say on the box usually it’s 1L of water for 1 box of say strawberry açaí
5. filter on toddy, grind 1 bullet of cold brew, pour 7L of water, tie it, pour 7L more of water and it’s ready in 20 hours :-)
edit: good luck!!

Depending on the iced coffee packages it ranges, if it’s a 9 oz bag of iced coffee I was taught 5 venti even scoops of ice.
Dangitkayla2 points1y ago
at my store we brew 3 bags for the keg , so i did know it was either 3 or 4 scoops of ice, i know i can’t go past that many scoops of ice because the keg would over flow. I have worked at other stores where they store the iced coffee differently. i’ll problem just double check with a sm with how many scoops we do 😅

SM here. It is supposed to be 3 venti scoops per 2L of iced coffee for the bigger 9oz bags (if you brew it on a half batch your store uses the bigger bags) but sometimes it ends up being closer to four just because of slight differences with how much someone scoops or the air in the ice. The important part is that one bag will make two pitchers, just divide it evenly and fill just below the 2L mark with ice.
I have found that if you have the slotted scoops, a "scoop" kind of heaps a bit over the edge since they aren't flat cut at the top.
Also the Curtis trick mentioned above is a good one. Fill the Curtis in the AM to the top ridge with ice and pour three batches on top. Perfectly measured and saves time and energy!
You'll be a great trainer. The best trainers are those who care about learning and growth and just the fact you want to ensure every partner is being trained right shows you have the right mindset.
Good luck training!!!

i always fill the ice to the top rim of the larger (3.8L?) pitchers, which usually comes out to 4 venti scoops, and brew the iced coffee on top.
juicyspitwater1 points1y ago
5??? we brew a half batch in one pitcher then split it in half in another pitcher and then 2 venti scoops of ice in each

Hey! Glad you're trying to be the best trainer you can be by asking questions! Here's my advice as a barista trainer. Asking questions is good, it's a much better thing to know where to find the answers. One day, go into the Partner Hub in the back computer and look up how to make iced coffee, how to make lemonade, how to make a toddy, etc... the Partner Hub and the Beverage Resource Manual is going to be your best friend. Also! Make sure you know how to navigate the Barista Trainer activity guides as they will guide you so you don't forget anything.
Recipes and methods do change, so make sure you read the weekly update to stay updated.
Best of luck on your trainer journey! It is very rewarding!

question a bullet of cold brew is the espresso bag or some thing else??
dogsofwintergaming3 points1y ago
The 5lb bags are called bullets, yeah!
skeletaldecay2 points1y ago
The bag will say cold brew not espresso though.

Did the recipe for iced teas ever change? I used to make it with the venti scoop of ice and then water, but my manager told me that it is just water.
Dangitkayla1 points1y ago
i’m pretty sure it’s ice then water, i’ve worked at 3 locations and they’ve all made teas with ice than water. at the end of the day ice is water anyways.
Meowzilla0131 points1y ago
Okay, thanks. I've worked at 2 locations and I have always made them with ice until my manager said otherwise.

I got told you have to be a partner for 6months before you can become a barista trainer because I got asked about it!! If you got the opportunity at the 3 months then that’s really good! I’m not good at explaining things over text *by what I’ve been told by peers.* so I couldn’t really explain how to do it so take my cheers are getting the opportunity!

Your best bet as far as keeping up with standards is going to be Partner Hub, you can find training materials, build guides for prep and product (components and drinks), and just about anything else you could need.
As far as your questions:
Iced coffee gets brewed 1 packet as a 1/2 batch on the Bunn brewer, directly into the 2L pitcher. Each pitcher then gets ice to the 2L line (however many scoops of any size that takes) on top of the brewed coffee. It gets day dotted for 12 hours.
Iced teas get 1 teabag in 1 2L pitcher with hot water to the 1L line. Steep for 5 minutes and then remove the teabags. Add 1 venti scoop of ice and then fill with cold water to the 2L line. They get day dotted for 12 hours.
Lemonade is 1 box concentrate split between two 2L pitchers + cold water to the 2L line. Day dotted for 48 hours.
Refreshers depend on what base you have (it will say on the box they come in). 2x base can go directly into the pitcher for use. 4x base is one box of base + cold water to the 2L line. Day dotted for 72 hours.
Cold brew: place the big filter in the toddy on top of the little stand that goes in the bottom and grind 1 5lb bag of cold brew beans (on the French Press setting) directly into the toddy filter. Using a measuring pitcher add 7L of cold water inside the bag, then tie off the bag with a string and add 7L more outside the bag. Cold brew steeps for 20 hours (so day dot or label the toddy as “ready @ x time following day of the week”. Once it has steeped, it can be pulled into 2 6L cubes (the kind with the red or purple lids), split evenly between the cubes, then add each cube to its own keg, add cold water to each keg equal to the amount of cold brew concentrate that was added (you can use the same cube that the cold brew came from). Ideally these water cubes will be pre-chilled in the same fridge with the cubes of cold brew concentrate.
