By his logic, everyone’s availability should stay the same the whole time they work somewhere? Then what would be the point of being able to change availability at all?
Your manager is stupid. Change your availability and if he doesn’t let you, just quit

not actually, only once drastically but i let them know in the interview and after i was hired that i would have to change my availability significantly from october to february. i changed it again to change a few hours but it was tiny

As a manager, I get his side. He more than likely hired you for a specific availability and thats what the job offer was based upon - what you could work. Changing your availability so soon after being hired could possibly mean the hours he thought he could offer you, he now can't. You can always change your avail, but just know it will change how many hours you might get especially if you changed it to match other partners.

It is, because they hired you based on your availability, but fuck ‘em. Don’t feel bad about doing what you need to do to pay the bills. If he’d rather, you could quit. 🤷🏻♀️ and i bet he doesn’t want that.

I mean if it's right after training then I can understand his argument but if it's been a month or two then your fine either way you can't get in trouble for that. Especially since this is for a secondary job it's not like your doing this for funsies and he can't really make you feel bad for that.
