I’m a shift, and I’ve worked at a store for more than two years. And I can tell you I’ve seen quite a few amazing partners leave my store because of shitty coworkers. I can tell you straight up your SM is an ass. It takes up to 6months for a barista to be comfortable and fast on bar. To threaten you while ignoring other partners is a dick move. I wouldn’t suggest quitting but if you can tough it out until the three month mark I would consider transferring to another store if that is possible!
Note: you are doing NOTHING wrong, life happens and your boss especially needs to understand this.
Goodluck op.

we’ve definitely had a lot of amazing partners leave due to our shitty work environment, and not picking things up quickly or up to our store’s “standards.” not sure how i’ve toughed it out for as long as i have, but unfortunately, we’re the only starbucks in my town, and the other ones are 9+ miles away, and i currently don’t drive so i wouldn’t be able to transfer to another store, which sucks. but thank you for your kind words and advice/sharing your perspective, i truly appreciate it ((:

I’m sorry that really sucks! Maybe consider reporting to the DM? At least get something on paper.

our DM is a well-known racist, and doesn’t care for those of us who are minorities //: so nothing would be done about it with her

One callout a month is borderline but not write-up level to me, at least compared to the rate other people call out. It's not consistent... A girl at my store recently got promoted to shift after calling out once a week for several months. What?

In my opinion, she does have it out for you. It unfortunately happens all the time. If you like Starbucks, I’d suggest trying to transfer to a nearby location if possible or find a different job.

it definitely feels like it, which sucks because besides calling out twice last month, i can’t remember anything else that i could’ve done to make her pick on me. we’re the only store in my town, and every other store is 9+ miles away and unfortunately i don’t drive 🥲

Make them fire you. Then you can collect unemployment.

How do you know the other baristas haven't been written up?

I think you gotta pick up speed.
