Ordering the not right way… (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by mr_epix18
Some guy about a month or two ago ordered I think it was a pike with ice in the cold cup. We suggested an actual ice coffee cause that’s what it would actually be but he kept on persisting on doing it the way he said it. Once we eventually did, he looked at it weird, scolded us, and said some stupid things I barely even remember cause I zoned out making another drink… so long story short, kids: You order it stupid, you get it stupid 🤪✌️

Maybe he wanted a pike iced pour over? Not the most common, but I've definitely seen it. I actually love doing the veranda iced pour over!

I think I onced asked if that was possible, but not sure how to make it beyond... add ice to hot coffee? But I feel like we'd do something different/weird

What’s the recipe for that? I’m going to make one on my next shift.

Oh shit, sorry I just saw this 😭 it's just like making a regular pour over, except you use half the amount of hot water you usually would (ie, 8oz of water for a grande, as opposed to 16oz).

Brew it straight into the iced cup, that is already full of ice. You may have to shake it around a bit during brewing to help the ice settle.

In the hot water pitcher you'll notice lines for iced pour overs, as well as hot pour overs. Just need to measure to those lines instead.
