I think we should have a job fair for Starbucks where our customers get to have the “barista experience”™️ (self.starbucksbaristas)

They can have the couple hours of training that we get, then we’ll have them go through a test where we as baristas get to order the most ridiculous drinks we can think of, then complain and heckle them for taking too long to make them. We can even throw in “I wanted that iced” or “this isn’t my drink” at the end for good measure. If they fail they hopefully learn something, and if they don’t we hire them on the spot.

I had a woman yell at me, "That's rude!" when I mentioned to the customer at my cash register that I wasn't going to be able to take the other woman's order since I was closing the store in order to go on my lunch. The customer at my register said, "Another barista mentioned to us that you're closing the store?" "Yes." "So you're not going to be able to take that woman's order?" She points to a new person in line that I hadn't noticed there. The lights are turned off at the store. "No." I continue labeling the customer's cups before I forget what she ordered. "You said that to her but not to me, that you won't be able to take my order," the new woman immediately says. "That's rude!" "I didn't know you were there." "It's rude. You should have told me, not just her." "I was going to in a second." "IT'S RUDE!" "Ok."

I’d be the smart ass to go to the back for something in the middle of this and change my name tag to “RUDE” before going back to bar, then seeing if they notice while I make the drink

My coworker wrote Karen on a customer's cup today after she didn't understand why I couldn't serve her a hot drink in a cup without a lid
