You do get 4 days off.
Remember that a text is not adequate for requesting time off. Please talk to your manager in person. They're probably more upset that they're high and dry for a time too long for bereavement leave.

Thank you for your reply. I guess I was thinking I could use the 4 days of bereavement for the first four days that I requested off, since I’m still scheduled on the 10th, 11th, and 12th.
