fired couple months ago and just got a call for an interview from a store in the same district? (self.starbucksbaristas)

so i got fired for vaping in the backroom and cussing (its really a long fucking story theres an old post on here about it if you’re interested because i know what youre thinking) and out of CURIOSITY not hopes i applied to some stores and i actually got a call for an interview? i called pcc a couple weeks ago and they confirmed i dont meet rehire eligibility. so question is do i entertain this interview or am i wasting time? i have a strong reputation as a shift throughout the district before my termination but i think the second that gets brought up the sm will just get up and leave lol. thoughts?

SM here. Ultimately hiring is the choice of the store manager regardless of what PCC or anyone else has to say. I suppose if you could make a strong enough case to that person, it may not be out of the question.

Depends on how thorough your previous SM was. All they see are the SM separation notes. Unless someone does something heinous, I leave notes vague if they leave on mehhh terms and really talk them up if they leave on good terms. Reason being, if you apply two years down the road, you aren't the same person I separated two years ago. Things change. People grow. You don't need a permanent "bad mark"

I’ve heard conflicting information. One of my managers said you could still get hired but it is hard to pull off and my dm said you can’t get rehired if they marked you.

I think they know just by running your application because of the sort of system Starbucks uses- if you have an Interview it’s likely they already know.

Tbh it's kind of obvious even without seeing it, because vapes have a scent to them, and if someone was vaping in the bathroom and another partner came into that bathroom within a few minutes of the vaping partner, then they'd be able to smell it. That's honestly how I knew partners at my former location were vaping. Other than, y'know, seeing them do it in the back room too. It's not an okay thing to do, btw.

Quick question that seems pretty obvious but I'm gonna ask it anyway: is the location you've been asked to interview at a brick and mortar Starbucks or is it a licensed store (generally inside another business, like hotels or grocery stores). From my understanding, if it's a licensed store, then you'd be interviewing for *that* company and not the OG.
Only reason I ask is because I was fired from a b&m store and then hired three years later at a licensed store.

It's honestly WILD to me that you'd be called for an interview. I went out of my way to speak with our regional manager at one point (he has to check in on license stores) and he said I should be fine to be rehired at any other Starbucks. Still, no one would ever set up an interview with me.

if you don't have evidence it was a wrongful termination, would you happen to have evidence that you're a hard worker and cares about their position? i really hope you're able to get a job with a corporate store again!

i was promoted 4 months into being a barista, aws awarded potq, was known for my low window times and being fastest on bar no matter what store i was working at. i just dont know how to go abt bringing this up lol. like “umm so if u give me a job u might see that i was fired for vaping and cussing but….” idk i really miss being at a corporate store i work at a tarbucks and its absolute bullshit
