TLDR; It’s me. I’m a thorn in management’s side so they’ll find any reason to write me up.
I’m a shift at my store btw. Recently at my store I’ve become somewhat of a target for my DM due to my disagreements and rallying of the store support in terms of the lack of support and efficient management. My new manager gave me a corrective action because I not only wore wrinkled pants but because I failed to coach my partners. Which the latter is not only false but further proof that I am more of a target because the things I failed to coach have not only gotten better but still happen on every shift not just the one that I’m running. I also got this corrective action shortly after informing my manager that I will be moving far away and will be transferring.
Prior to all this I have had problems with my manager including not being on the floor when she is scheduled as such. I understand that there are times a manager needs to step off the floor. But you also shouldn’t leave 2-4 hrs early every day and claim that you work 50-60 hrs a week when you come in the next day and say you won’t be on the floor because you have to do something off the floor. This has been essentially the case since she started a month ago. When we had two call outs and no hot lids she couldn’t come on the floor and wouldnt turn off mobile order either. At a store next to a university with finals approaching we’re consistently busy up until maybe an hour before close. Not like peak busy but still never a break.
On red cup day (while she was scheduled as coverage) she decided to make a new position for herself where she set up a lovely little table with all the cups and some candy and she just decided to hand them out and that was her position in “Starbucks busiest day of sales in history”(as per the weekly update that followed). She was asked by the three shifts running the floor to hop on or at least switch to which she responded with essentially a no to all of us.
I asked her if she thought a managers position was to be handing out cups while the rest of her team is struggling and she said we can talk about it later 🙈

If you believe that these things are happening AFTER you bring up feeling like there’s no support and you putting in for a transfer, call partner resources and tell them you’re being retaliated against. Starbucks has a zero retaliation policy.

Oh I did for more than just this I have a call with the president of PCC in North America later this week. I hate that’s it’s come to this but I hope my rd dm and gm all get fired

I know but at least my gm and dm because they actually have a list of offenses under their name, but my RD was just a bitch with no respect or empathy one day

Yea literally came here to say most places won’t do transfers if you have write ups with in a certain time frame I think it’s 6mo

That red cup day nonsense.....I guarantee she posted on workplace her stupid little picture of her table setup and said her team "killed it and made customers day brighter" "happy red cup day"
It's insane how many SMs post these types of pictures of tables and outside the box thinking they come up with to "support their partners during this busy season". I'm like....how the heck do you have time to put this stuff together and post on workplace? I barely have time to get admin done because I'm on the floor SUPPORTING MY PARTNERS!!!!

I've now worked under 3 managers and the one I *despised* was obsessed with that workplace bullshit. I really should have reported her and the DM for a lot of totally off-the-wall crap they pulled but by the time I finally walked out in her at 445am I just didn't have the bandwidth to deal with any of it anymore. Good for OP for doing the work and making sure this manager can't keep doing this.

I worked for a manager who did shit like this all the time. It was obnoxious. She was one of those super fake bubbly people. In retrospect there’s no way that woman was working full 40 hour weeks. I was so glad to finally leave that store.

It’s only against Third Place or Dress Code when the manager or DM says it. But when a barista brings it up, they don’t give a fuck and would instead rather write you up for pay attention to the rules. Fuck starbucks and everything they stand for, worst fucking company right next to Nestle.
