My mom worked there like 10 years ago, which is why I applied cuz they have a reputation for being good to their employees. All I can say is things have changed SO MUCH. Like reading "onward" by Howard i-can-never-remember-

It takes up sooo much time and it’s so out of sequence. When people order it on top of a shaken espresso I slightly lose my mind. There’s just so much running back and forth because of it

What's dumb is it's so good. I like in my off time trying different cold foams and I said to my coworker yesterday "we really are just drinking fluffy cream."


I even make cold foam at home sometimes with a nutrablender and those premade flavored coffee creamers.


But I work in a little kiosk so I don't fully despise cold foam.

We should charge $2, not $1. They will still order it. Recently we are asked for Sugar Cookie foam. We add the syrup to the already-sweet VSC. Told a customer, no, we’re not going to make a special sugar cookie sweet cream from scratch

I worked at sbux back in 2009 and the most complicated drink orders were the occasional "secret menu" Frappuccino's people would come up with.

Whole, 2% , Non-fat, Soy Milk that is it.

I get that they are trying to cater to a different crowd by adding all these extra concoctions but it's absolutely sickening that what I got paid back then was the same that they were offering barista starting today. (pre any covid pay boost that may have occurred I'm unaware of)

You guys have so much more to memorize, make, and deal with. I do not envy anyone stuck working there and I hope anyone that is currently there can get to where they want to be and out of this bastard of a company.

Maybe it's because we are cafe only and our behind bar is area is 3 people wide, but at our store it ain't no thang. I just swoop around, make foam, turn to the right again, and grab finished foam. The only thing that bugs me are people who mobile 6 or more drinks or people that want extra whip on their venti frappuccino.

Cold foam is delicious but it’s a pain when it’s on like EVERY drink. Especially on hot drinks. And nobody even understands it…I see people getting it on a frap or drinking through a straw from the bottom anyways (which is fine it just doesn’t make much sense to me).

Order the foam! It’s fine, we don’t mind making the drinks for nice people. I don’t even mind making the foam really it just gets redundant because people order it so much. However it is a waste of money on hot drinks. But all of my coworkers and I are foam whores and get it on our drinks all the time so don’t feel bad lol just say thank you and move on :)

You can get the foam, some people just get massively annoying with the customization of it. If you’re polite and patient you can order what you want. Our frustration is mainly from the sheer amount of it we have to make a day, the annoyance of sequencing (which is just part of the job), and the lack of understanding most customers have for it. I get it on most of my cold drinks. Thank you for the empathy though. :)
