Drive Times being murdered during peak(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by vrms77
297 here but it's my first time posting. Today we had a lady come through and spent 5 minutes complaining about the volume of the speaker outside saying it was too quiet. Not even 30 minutes later a man came through and paid over 8 dollars in just pennies. It took us 10 minutes to count and he was still short on his total. Why go through the drive thru when you know your order is going to take forever?

If in the wrapper, you can easily weigh the wrapper down instead. But this sounds like it was by the handful. Horrible either way.

It was handed loosely in 3 random piles

I would’ve pulled out the cash master and emptied a cup so I can weigh it cause that ain’t it

Ugh. Just ugh.

Faster to just give it free, not worth the time counting it
Kindly-Wear-62901 points1y ago
My thought as well. No chance would I count it in drive. I’d just eyeball it and hope for the best.

That was the option I wanted to so but I'm not a shift and they chose to count the coins instead

What does questionable mean? Too loud? Too soft?
vrms77 [OP]2 points1y ago
I meant quiet and my phone autocorrected it

Why wouldn’t you ask someone in the coin situation to pull forward? Is there a new rule against that or something? That’s insane. I can’t see a manager thinking it’s worth fucking the DT times that much.

There isn't a new rule but it's was the shift chose to do about the situation
