My thought exactly. That first drink is way too simple to be rang in the way it is, the person ordering doesn't know the system. Plus anytime someone calls them "numbers" it's a bit of a red flag. Partners usually confidently call them partner numbers.

When we had the great caramel shortage of '21, we messed around with the POS systems for the best way to ring up customers that wanted a caramel macchiato with a different syrup subbed for loss of caramel. It was cheaper to enter in their drinks as a caramel macchiato with the appropriate pumps of vanilla and 1 sub-pump instead of a flavored latte. I haven't tried it since the new prices went up and the POS design changed, but I wonder if this person is asking for it like that to lower the cost.

I agree. I worked Starbucks and other places where people close early or are rude to customers who come in while we advertise being open. Never made sense to me, don't be available to close maybe?

I think the complaint is that an alleged partner ordered these drinks.

it’s the cinnamon dolce topping, not the syrup… my store has bottles of it too but no ones ever ordered it on anything lol

It probably took a while to order and two minutes before closing we’re trying to make sure everything is set up so that we can leave on time and I assure you making those drinks means not getting to clean that bar on time bc it’s being used and it’s a dominos effect where we’d leave late. It’s also just the idea that this partner should know better than to come in that late and ask for something more complicated than a flavored latte or macchiato bc it feels like disrespect to me :/

Customers are a different thing, a partner or fuck, even a retail worker has common sense to not come in right before we close
