Cold foam on a hot drink. (self.starbucksbaristas)

It’s always irked me, and I’ve seen several people on this sub talk about how the temp differences provide opportunity for bacteria to grow. Makes sense to me, but what exactly is the difference between that and someone ordering a hot coffee with cold milk or cream in it? Or when we make iced lattes by pulling hot shots and then immediately adding cold milk and ice? Is there opportunity for bacteria growth in those situations as well or is it something about it being a foam that makes it ✨special✨? Honestly just curious.

once the cold foam gets hot it just melts into the drink so it kind of defeats the purpose of it? but if they like the flavor of it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t my time.. I justuse the sweet cream because it’s going to melt to that anyway

It’s just because when sweet cold foam gets hot it basically just becomes sweet cream or if it’s regular cold foam just nonfat milk again so it’s useless.
