I got an interview! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by angelic-hellhound
I applied to a close Starbucks to me earlier this week and received an email today to set up a virtual interview! Does anyone have any tips/suggestions for nailing the interview?

mention “connecting with customers” at least once and they’ll literally foam at the mouth with excitement

And how you'll connect with the customer thru faster drive thru times. They'll need clean chonies after you say that.

I was so nervous since it was my very first job, and I literally studied for it (even tho it was prolly unnecessary). I looked up interview tips from Starbucks baristas on YouTube, looked up possible interview questions that they could ask me and had practiced what I would say. Mostly prepared me well. Had a few questions I wasn’t prepared for but i wasn’t as nervous answering them on the spot since I had prepared a lot. Overkill, I know, but I really wanted the job and there were not a lot of other good paying ones in my area so I really wanted to nail it. Good luck!!

Talk about how much you love people(no matter what u think lol) they love to hear that. I also remember my manager saying that he liked that I mentioned reasons for wanting to work there, that it was clear I had done research.

(only if you actually are) mention you’re a fast learner and work well in fast paced environments. mention enjoying being part of and working with a team. mention all positive experience with customer service. you’ll get it 100%

They'll hire almost anyone with a heartbeat. If you sound competent enough to learn on the job they'll take you

Hi! I hope your interview goes well ;) I was hired about a year ago, and my SM asked me a lot of questions about my experience with other activities. This has been my first job, so I was mainly asked to speak about leadership and volunteer experience. Make sure you know your involvement within the community well. 🙃

I got a LOT of questions like "tell me about a time you solved a problem when no one else could at your last job"

I googled the most commonly asked interview questions for Starbucks and practiced answers to all of them. I was asked maybe half of them during the interview. Make sure to mention customer connections, that you are excited to learn, and that you work well on a team. Also mention that you are flexible and can adapt quickly. I threw in there how I thought it was important to create a great experience for every customer because we could be the only smiling face they see all day or turn their day around if they are having a bad day, and they ate that shit up. Best of luck to you!
