fire alarm went off and people still wanted their coffee(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by agigante02
title explains it simply but basically something burned in the oven and the fire alarm went off so we had to evacuate. customers were still trying to get in the store TO GET THEIR MOBILE ORDERS WHILE THE FIRE ALARM IS GOING OFF AND AS A FIRE CHIEF CAR PULLS IN WHAT?! "you cant just run in quick and get it?? theres no fire" yeah no shit susan but we cant quite do that until the building is clear. some guy decided to go up to the fireman and ASK HIM WHEN THE STORE WOULD BE OPENED UP AGAIN. i cannot. is your over sweetened coffee THAT important jim?? HMMM?
edit: spelling

One of us could be on fire and they’d still ask us to remake their drink.

Come on, the burns weren’t even fatal, they weren’t even on your hands! Can you please just remake this the way I like it, I come here everyday!

This is fine.

Had a RV burning in the parking lot and cars were driving around it to get to the drive thru. Gotta get that coffee.

there could be a full on war going on in the parking lot and they’d still be asking why their coffee is taking so long(when they ordered 2 minutes ago)

And every single person in drive thru would be asking the person at the window “what’s going on?” as if that person would have any idea

The bar above my old store had a dishwasher flood, and it RAINED FROM THE CELING in the cafe. Did ANYONE move? Just the guy who shifted his laptop over one spot. Clearing out the cafe was a nightmare. “But I just got here.” Well Susan, we don’t know if that’s a sprinkler or a toilet sending down all this rain inside, so I’m going to have to ask you to leave.

one of our partners fainted and hit their head once, the ambulance was there and people were still trying to get their mobile orders lol

Not at Company Starbucks but at Safeway. We had a co-worker in full seizure that we were attending to, waiting for paramedics. Customers were still trying to order. Empathy is not a flower that grows in everyone’s Garden. SMDH

I would legit would have been grabbing people or my own hoodie for that barista to use as pillow. 🙃

Had an espresso machine on fire. They still wanted their coffee. Even had an oven on fire, they were mad they couldn’t get sandwiches.

It will be funny if these people thought the firefighters with be making there drinks while they were there. Omg I’m tired of people’s entitlement and stupidity smh 🤦♂️ it just coffee for God sakes.

one of our BOH fridges caught fire 2h before close one night. store closed early, obviously, and people were coming back the next morning asking why we closed so suddenly. we told one woman that a fridge caught fire and started to spread (thankfully nothing was damaged besides the one fridge) and she went batshit crazy on us about how “awful our customer service is” like what???
i honestly hope these people don’t have family members that work in fast food. how would they feel when their 16 year old daughter gets injured in a fire at work because she prioritized customer satisfaction over her safety? they’d blame the company, and not the sugar addicts who think their venti cream based frappuccino “wakes them up”

My favourite was when we had a total power outage and instead of dumping the drip coffee we just put the carafes out by the dairy bar and told people they could help themselves. Some guy got pissed that we wouldn’t make him a mocha instead of drip coffee and didn’t seem to understand why it was not possible to make him a mocha with no power to the building…
