our entire job is being so fake to customers, my fellow baristas do such a good job at faking to even me 🤩

And i don’t understand it either like we’re forced to be here together working under this same roof and if you have any bit of respect for me use your words, don’t make us both suffer in awkwardness or angst

I feel this. My whole store is the same age as me too and a lot of them lead me on. It also hurts when you think you're friend and they all go hang out without you or even make plans in front of you, but I've learned that it's all fake and the real ones will naturally be your friend

yeah, same. my whole store is my age too. i found out the ones i thought i was getting close to made plans without me.

i know work isn’t ideal for making friends but Starbucks tends to attract partners who i have a lot in common with. i’d like to be friends with them but they never feel the same. idk

My advice: let them find you. If they’re worth it they’ll find you and will actually put in the effort to remain friends. I’ve made so many friends over the years at Starbucks and a lot of them I considered to be BEST friends. But where are they now? Only a very few of them stay in contact with me now. That’s why whenever I see posts about “I want to quit but I don’t want to let down my fellow partners” I always comment that you need to put your own needs first. If they’re truly your friends then they’ll want what’s best for you, only FAKE friends would guilt you into staying somewhere that’s not healthy for you. I’m still good friends with a couple former partners, but the vast majority of partner friends I’ve had have completely forgotten me and moved on. Let friends come to you, if they don’t, it means there’s no one worth your time there.

I really vibe with my coworkers but it makes me sad when my boyfriend’s coworkers(different job) hang out a lot out of work and I only talk to my coworkers during work :( One of my shifts is trying to see if we can do a secret Santa event which I look forward to bc I can bond more with them😁
