This is my second year doing ASU and i’ve never had anything like that. You might want to talk to your manager and see if they know how to get more information on that. It seems really sketchy

If Starbucks gives you over like $5200 you have to pay taxes on anything over that amount. So this is unfortunately normal. It’s not a Starbucks policy its a government policy. And the taxes come out of our paychecks so if the amount of taxes they owe is more than what the paycheck is, unfortunately they won’t get a paycheck that week

it comes out at the end of the semester. this is the first time people are really having to deal with this though because they started paying 100% up front instead of reimbursement

I am blaming Starbucks for the lack of communication. Letting an employee know 3 days into the month that I won’t be getting a check (for that month), is ridiculous. Yes, the government is to blame for the taxes.
