So I'm on the morning crew but I usually start around 5:30-6am and I've been at my store almost two months and only opened a few times. The partner I open with most of the time is kinda overbearing though and ends up doing a lot of the opening tasks for me so I haven't really gotten a chance to learn everything for myself.
Opening just gives me a lot of anxiety now, because I'm so tired to begin with and everytime I've opened lately, there's something I've missed/forgotten that ends up having us running behind. And this morning I'm opening with people I don't typically open with and I was pretty much left on my own.
So in my store when we open there's two of us on the floor and we both end up being in charge of one half of our work space. So I'm doing my thing, thinking that the shift whose on the floor is gonna get coffees done because it's on her half. Come to find out 10 minutes before we opened, she was expecting me to brew all the coffee. The only saving grace was that we had hardly any customers so it was okay that I literally only had pike finished by the time we opened. And I didn't end up getting the ice coffee done until almost 45 minutes after opening.
It also took me a good 40 minutes just to get the ice bin sanitized and filled because I kept having to run around and prep other stuff.
But hey, I did get a $20 tip cause some dude accidentally sent his mobile to a different store and felt bad that we ended up having to make his order instead!
