Quick Question (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Momo-ko_the_Fox
I was just fired today over some BS reason that I’m currently too irritated to get into right now, but I wanted to know if it’s possible to be hired at a different Starbucks location? I really do love this job, despite the frustrations I had with the store I was at. I was planning on transferring, but my SM wrote me up, which, to my understanding, prevents you from being able to transfer. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Write up does not necessarily prevent transfer, but itncan depending on if your current manager considers you to be in gold standing.

Being separated definitely does, but you can call PRSC to contest. Were you asked to sign a notice of separation? Were you given a copy? If not, you already have grounds for a wrongful termination case.

They did give me a notice of separation, and I did, stupidly enough, sign it. I just realized they have the wrong partner number on the form, though. I was told by my SM that I couldn’t transfer due to my write ups, so that’s why I didn’t transfer.

Yeah they can deny transfers if they feel you aren't in good standing.

You can apply at another store, but I would talk to the SM before even submitting the app. That way, you can preface the reason of the separation.

From what my manager has said to me in passing about her experiences, it depends on what you were fired for and if they put you on the Starbucks do not hire list. Although my manager has heard of cases where you can go into a different store and explain your do not hire status and give them your side and stores may take that into consideration

Write ups do not mean you cannot transfer. I got written up a while back and here I am now about to transfer as a brand new SSV =]
