Technically if you’ve finished barista basics, you’re a registered barista. To me, sounds like this is a put-off „skills test“ of sorts that your manager finally has time to do.
It’s likely something easy; how many shots, pumps, etc. go in this vs. that. What’s the routine for ___.
I wouldn’t think too much into it; it’ll most likely be a walk in the park. Plus, you’re not going to learn anything or change any results starting prep for it tonight. Get some sleep, go in, and crush it!

It’s known as grooming the milk and as another commenter said it gets rid of the bubbles, I like to do two swirls and two taps to get a nice smooth texture
