If you don't mind me asking, what was the comment?

Its not your fault bro. There is no reason on the planet you should be fired because of some venting you did on your own social media :( im sorry. I hope you find a better job in the future
monzoink25 points1y ago
Yea it was on the starbucksbaristas instagram page and it broke the social media policy so eh I get it. At least I'm just a college kid who was only working during breaks and I was already planning to quit in mid january after winter break because I have a paid internship scheduled for next summer, so I really am only gonna miss 4 weeks of work. It could be a whole lot worse if I were in different circumstances like having to figure out a new job quick and pay rent and such, so I'm thankful for that.

I've been fired. I understand the shame and uncomfortable atmosphere. Time will heal all. I was fired for not playing along and confessing my sins with religious people. Long story but it is fault.

There’s a social media policy? How would they have seen? Are you “friends” with partners who reported?
RyusuiJL52 points1y ago
Okay, so while I think that the comment could still be a firable offense, I think that the interpretation and therefore the actual reason for firing is invalid. If we were unionized, you would be reinstated right quick.
Regardless, I get where you were coming from, and it's good to know that you understand and accept the fault and consequences. And I am sorry to hear that something so seemingly pointless turned into such a hassle for you.

Lmao go paint your nails 💅 walk in a Starbucks it makes me feel better.

Hey we both got fired today for something that we shouldn’t have been fired for.

What happened??
westbeecomb41 points1y ago
I was having problems with what I thought was my asthma, and covid coach told me I was fine, and then when it turned out I had pneumonia and covid, even tho I had no symptoms they “investigated” And accused me of knowingly coming to work with covid.

Ex shift here. Fuck starbucks, you're better of without the company green bean. If you like what you do, go to a local shop, not that hell of a corporate store. But there are much better opportunities out there in much less toxic environments.
Come at me schultz!

That's wild we had people being straight up bullies online but our DM said she won't look at partners social media so wild that it's so different in another district idk seems weird to me
monzoink3 points1y ago
Ya idk I think someone reported me cuz the comment was left like 3-4 months ago and was only brought up now. My district manager said she "conferred with the social media team" so idk if she had much say, but my store manager even texted me afterwards and asked me to call him saying he wasn't mad and knows everyone makes bad jokes, and that he knows I wouldn't harm anyone but that corporate doesn't know me that well. So maybe it was my DM being crazy but oh well
awesomechief9893 points1y ago
Ok wtf. I’ve honestly seen/ heard soo many comments about corporate but I have never seen them do anything if you catch my drift. Like I’ll see people react crazily to prevent corporate from finding out but when have they actually done anything?? In this case your DM fired you because corporate doesn’t know you. BUT chorister doesn’t even know you. So he fired you to prevent corporate from doing it. Plus they’ll prob never see that comment if it’s already months old.

I have had that happen to me I got bullied online for no reason. It make no sense.

Many moons ago I worked at a company named after fruit. We had received news that we would no longer be serving pork products on the cafeteria because of dietary preferences of an owner. One of my co workers was not at work that week and he was the bacon king, so I left a comment on his FB page about no more bacon. The next day I was let go for leaking company secrets and violating my contract. I was young and dumb and devastated. At the time I was pissed but as I have grown I see that I made a mistake and it was my responsibility. Ever since then I have been incredibly mindful of what I post online.
I’m so sorry this happened to you. As much as I hated being a partner I also loved it so much.

I am now a former partner switching to a different type of jobs. Getting fired from starbucks is bullshit. I got fired for not being fast unable to do the job. I legit tried compliance best thing I did. Its so bullshit though for anyone that does need this job.
